Licinius II was declared Caesar by his father while still an infant, largely to counter the elevation of two sons of Constantine the Great to Caesar at the same time. He lost his title at age 7 or 8 when his father's forces were defeated by those of Constantine the Great, and was put to death by Constantine two years later. Return |
