Maximinus

Maximinus I was a common soldier who rose up the racks and eventually led a rebellion against Severus Alexander. He was a successful battlefield field commander, but he was intensely disliked by the Roman Senate and much of the general population because of his humble, “barbarian” origin. He was murdered by his own troops while trying to quell one of the several uprisings against him. Return |
