Tacitus

Tacitus had already retired from the military when he was declared emperor after the murder of Aurelian. His brief reign was spent defending the empire from Gothic invaders, at which he and his brother Florian were temporarily successful. He died a natural death–a rarity among emperors at that time–probably from fever.
