Daughter of Mark Anthony, niece of Octavian Augustus, mother of Claudius and grandmother of Caligula, Antonia was given the title Augusta by Caligula. She rejected the title and was eventually murdered by him. In A.D. 41, Claudius again awarded her the title posthumously. By this time she was in no position to refuse it. Return |
